[373] Tupelo Daily Journal Obituaries: Frank Black Memphis - Frank Adams Black, 75, died Friday Oct 21 1994 at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis after a six-month illness. He was born in Calhoun County to the late Frank L and Mary Case Black. He grew up in Okolona and lived there until 1955 when he moved to Memphis. He retired in 1984 from the Southern Baptist Convention, where he was an executive with the Brotherhood Commission. He was an active member and deacon at the Germantown Baptist Church in Germantown, Tenn. He was an avid antique collector and golfer. Graveside services will be at 2 pm today at Oddfellows Cemetery in Okolona with Dr Roy McHenry officiating. Lee Memorial/Okolona Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Agnes Hill Black of Memphis; one daughter, Betty Green of Memphis; one son, Robert Black of Memphis; two grandchildren, Hadley and Mary Helen Green, both of Memphis. Pallbearers will be Jerry Ellis, James Edward Edens, Harold Turner, Jamie Darnell Jr., Jay Hill and Tim Dobbins. Visitation will be from noon to 1:45 pm today at the Okolona Funeral Home, 418 S Church St, Okolona. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, P O Box 16808, Jackson Miss, 32936.
